How to Configure Ethernet on a Texmate Tiger

Step-by-step Ethernet setup using the Lantronix XPort device

Technical Documentation › How to Configure Ethernet

Texmate meters with Ethernet functionality utilize a Lantronix XPort device as the Ethernet port on the back of Tiger controllers. To use your Tiger controller on a network, you will need to identify its IP address—typically assigned automatically—or manually configure a specific address for advanced applications.

Manually Assigning an IP Address

Consult the Lantronix video tutorial for step-by-step instructions on configuring a static IP address.

Finding an Automatically Assigned IP Address

  1. Download Lantronix's DeviceInstaller software to your computer
  2. Install the downloaded software
  3. Connect your Tiger series meter to your network via Ethernet cable (router/switch to controller)
  4. Power on the Tiger controller
  5. Launch DeviceInstaller — it will automatically scan and detect your Tiger controller on the network
  6. Record the displayed IP address for later use

Once you have the IP address, you can use it in applications, the Texmate Configuration Utility, or Texmate Data Viewer for Tiger controller configuration.
