Sales Engineer – Meters and Controls

POSITION SUMMARY
Texmate (www.texmate.com), a 40+ year player in the industrial meters and controls market, is looking for a Sales Engineer to support the sales function in our System Integrator, Distributor and OEM markets. The position is a mix of inside and outside sales, marketing support (tradeshows, etc.) and new business development support.
QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor's degree (B.A., B.S.) or equivalent work experience, electronic engineering or technician training strongly preferred.
• Five plus years of inside/outside sales experience, at least two of which includes selling industrial controls and automation products.
• Understanding of System Integrator, Distributor and OEM markets.
• Expert knowledge in industrial controls (panel meters, process controllers, PLC’s, etc.).
• Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
• Willing to travel up to 50%.
• Flexible and able to handle and prioritize multiple tasks.
• Possess a positive attitude and work well with others.
JOB FUNCTIONS
• Assist in building an annual sales forecast and business plan. Meet or exceed established sales goals.
• Develop, execute and regularly review your sales performance. Report performance monthly. Actively participate in all internal/external sales meetings.
• Plan, conduct and document sales calls/meetings utilizing an appropriate computer tool. Plan each sales week accordingly for optimum results.
• Develop customer relationships and networks through a variety of activities (emails, calls, meetings, tradeshows, conferences, etc.).
• Maintain and grow existing System Integrator, Distributor and OEM business. Develop new accounts to grow market share.
• Develop and effectively execute promotions / initiatives / campaigns.
• Monitor/evaluate customer activity, work closely with customers to ensure business requirements and objectives are well defined. Fully understand the customer’s business model and organizational structure.
• Demonstrate an expert-level understanding of Texmate’s product portfolio, architecture, and key technical strengths. Act as the technical point of contact during the sales cycle. Serve as a technical expert and trusted resource.
• Keep up to date on competitor’s products in the market and provide feedback and input to product marketing on roadmap requirements and product direction.
• Prudently manage your territory and travel expenses. Get management pre-approval before making exceptional expenditures. Submit your expense reports on time.
